***$2,000.00 Reward***

Hello all- In 2000, my 1986 MIJ Fender Contemporary Strat was stolen from North Charleston, SC. So, from time to time, I take a shot in the dark at locating my long, lost love in case someone has seen or acquired her:

- 1986 MIJ Fender Contemporary Standard 22
- Maple neck & fretboard
- 22 frets
- Serial #E622068
- Black w/ white pickguard
- 1 Humbucker
- 2 Single Coils
- Tremolo

Thank you.

***$2,000.00 Reward***

Hi Rodney D,

Man, couldn't you just buy another one for less than $1K? I know that having it stolen really sucks, but are those Strats worth that much? I really don't know, are they? :(

I think I understand the why, yes he could get another one, but would it play as well as that one did?

I get not, more then likely it was one of those guitars that just felt perfect to him.

I hope someday you find her.

I dunno mate, theres always a chance someone honest has bought the guitar and will see that it was a stolen instrument.
Thats exactly what happened to the infrequent but very enigmatic member HarleyHexxe.
He spent years searching for his early 80's 57 reissue. Someone saw his post about it and got intouch with him. He got his guitar back.

Harley if you look in, how is that going? You were tidying up the paintwork last I heard.

Theres always hope. Best of luck with it Rodney D. Some guitars are just irreplacable, no matter what they cost.

Thanx all.

I did in fact purchase one off eBay a few years back, and Jeff is right... she just did not and does not feel the same. I am 41 years old, and bought my strat when I was around 17. It was the only electric I played for nearly 15 years. It holds tremendous sentimental value for me. Thus, the $1,000 reward. I kinda have the feeling it may still be laying around somewhere "whole" because it was more than likely stolen for drug money since I did not live in the greatest part of town at the time. Perhaps one day she will surface.

Hi Rodney D,

I'm in indy at the moment, my new home town I guess. Born and raised in south central Ky though, which I call God's country. :)

Aww man  I know those guitars so well and I fully understand the $1k reward.

I had one too mine was sunburst and fairly relic'd but It was set up amazingly and I loved the System one Trem too.

Flat got broken into while I was in College and the Guitar and my TV were gone so yeah I feel for you.

Yeah... my TV was taken too, along with a small boombox. After it happened, I got a storage unit and put everything else under lock-n-key until I moved into a gated community. I would had been much happier if they would had wiped me clean of everything else and left my guitar behind. The thing about it is, is that they had unlocked all of my windows... as if they had planned on returning. I slept the next few nights with a butcher knife...

A longtime friend and on-and-off band-mate of mine had a MIJ contemporary Strat from around the same era that he had stolen from a gig.

A couple of years later, he ran into it in a pawn shop, pretty much totally unmolested. He still had the paperwork for it and the police report he'd filed, so he was able to get it back.

It's rare, but you can't totally give up hope!

Wow... that is sweet.

What I need to do is call all the pawn shops in the Charleston, SC area in case she ever shows up.

If I still lived in the area, I would be frequenting the shops on a regular basis. From time to time, I perform searches on eBay, craigslist, and Google images & shopping.

I ain't laughing. Doesn't look too much different than my 1989 senior photo with my Loch Ness Green Ibanez Jem. I had about the same hair, but was wearing my biker jacket. Ah, the 80s.
