this is a super sci-fi touchpad!!

you know Muse, right? Of course, you do!

look up for some live performance, and i would recommend "Micro Cuts live at Wembley Stadium"

you'll see a touchpad next to the guitar's bridge illuminating colourful visualizer.

After the 2nd hook of the song, Matt will use this touchpad.
Listen carefully!!!

Yeah it's do'able. Why the hell anyone would want to is beyond me though.

Hack all that wood out to throw a disco light in your guitar? :?

Hi SinX: this is the gentleman who build's Matt Bellamy's guitar's for him:

http://www.mansonguitars.co.uk/

Personally, I think his non-Bellamy guitars are much nicer - and I've looked at a wall full of them in his shop. However, from memory I have an idea that he will do that Kaoss installation as an aftermarket mod on you guitar if you want. And if you are prepared to pay enough, and if you don't mind coming halfway around the world for it.

Alternatively, he also sells exact replicas of Matt's MB-1 Standard:

http://www.mansons.co.uk/shopping/brand ... -standard/

A cool £3399. That's 163,360 Thai Baht. Interested...?

Cheers - C

Well...

i wouldn't want to travel that far for a guitar :P
but i MIGHT... someday

however, i happened to find the way to install this "manually"

all you need is the DM9 cable
an X/Y pad
a KAOSS KORG pad

then you use this cable to connect the X/Y pad to the KORG pad

the problem is, in order to install this, you'll need to "dig" a whole through your guitar and drill another small tunnel for a wire.

I used to work with woods, but not with a guitar...

PLUS my strat has a locking tremolo, which means i have less space for this pad... although it might be possible.

i'm gonna get a new strat by this new year, so this old one might be a good tester for me.

thanks anyways :D

Hi again SinX: then it's time to learn! :D

Why don't you buy an unfinished Strat body from one of the international sellers or just find one cheap on Ebay? Then do some very simply woodwork, install that pad, spray the body a nice color of your choice - and you're ready for your Matt Bellamy excursions!

I have no idea what your level of skill is. Applying lacquer is not so difficult, but also right now Forum user AndyBigHair is doing an oil finish on this current thread; it is perfectly do-able for anyone and very beautiful. Andy shows how:

Or you could do a knockout Candy Apple Red, like this famous gentleman:

(Though compared to that, the carpentry is the easy bit...)

Possibilities...

Those bodies on ebay aren't equipped with the locking tremolo, or i can just modify it, too?

How is it powered? if this thing is uses batteries, a Strat would be my last choice as lifting the pickguard whenever you want to change a battery is an annoying task. Unless you want to rout a cavity for the battery, like you have on the Clapton model.

If you want it to have a guitar with a double locking bridge you should just look for one of the gazzilion Supert-Strats available. You can get them anywhere and at any cost...

Hi Johnny: if someone is carving a cavity for a locking trem and another for that Kaoss pad then making one more for a battery will also be easy. Like this:

From halfway down this page:

A tidy way to go.

Hope there will be a guitar left after all the carving...

If the OP will go for a Charvel/Jackson/Ibanez/ESP/unbelievable number of other available guitars with a Floyd and a rear routed control cavity - he'll have much less work to do and much more money left in his pockets.

Just get a guitar that already comes with a Floyd, put the battery in the control cavity in its back (no need to take of the strings to replace it), and it leaves you with the operation you need to do for the bizarre toy.

If Strat tones are important - you can easily find a HSS model that will cover most of the Strat positions...
