MZ51239xx with a Fender 60 silver circle logo on back of head stock. MZ5 plus six digits didn't seem right on some serial number websites?

I just picked it up at GC. A used midnight wine color strat. It plays real nice and didn't need a setup. $279 out the door seemed fair enough.

The tag said it had TEX MEX pickups. I'm not sure how to prove that but, that wasn't why I bought it anyway.

got a MIM 2 days ago and the serial is MZ7 plus 6 digits as well, nothing wrong
with it. Checked it with fender and they have all the info on it. if you're not sure about your guitar just email Fender the serial number and ask for specs.

The MZ5 serial number would be either 2005 or 2006. The silver badge on it would be the Fender 60th anniversary (1946-2006), so that means that you have a 2006 model. Sounds legit to me. Great price for a great guitar. The Tex-Mex pickups are really nice. They have a certain something that I really like. I am happy for you, sounds like you got a great deal!
