I have a thing for BLUES and was wondering what guitar un the strat would have a good blues sound,I am using a Fenderd Blues Deluxe Reissue.....I always wanted a custom shop in a Sonic blue that is reliced out some,But that is looks What about sound?I am thinking,Ronnie Earl, Otis Rush, Marvin Taylor, old slow blues.
By the way I hade a chance to trade a Alvarez Yairir WY-1 KOA wood and a Fender Active Deluxe 4 string bass for a custom shop and I did NOT....Did I make a wrong choice.

Hi Snowprom, Listen, any guitar is great for the Blues... There is no
"Blues"guitar. It's all in the hands of the artist.

As far as your trade, I think keeping the Yari was wise... YMMV

A friend of mine has a '78 Yairi that is just so sweet - been trying to get him to sell it to me for ages, but he won't let go... I think it was a good idea hanging on to yours!

For an acoustic guitar, you can find one that has good tone for blues. I have a cheap hohner acoustic that just oozes deep bluesy tones. I have had several friends try to trade me for it because of the tone. I won't let it go because I love the sound.

Electrics are easier. Change pickups, pedals, amps, fret size, and even strings can give you a good tone change. Just depends on what sound you want to hear. Look at the style guitars that your favorite guitarists play and try as many as you can to match the sound you hear in you head.

I have 5 Strats-a '65,a '00 lefty MIM,an '04 50th Ann., a new Jimmie Vaughn and a Stratacoustic and I can wail out the bluesiest tones from either one of them, it's all in the mitts.

blues is a style of playing. its an attitude.
you can have both on any guitar you like.

i do get the OP's point behind the question.
there are guitars that just plain sound better with the style of blues
than others. a trat with single coils can be as bluesy as it gets.
when i think of a blues tone im hearing a strat with singles and a warm
tube amp as the base of the tone im hearing in my head.
