ls lt normal for my strat to pick up alot of loud clacking and other sounds from my finger picking and regular picking or am l touching the pickups to much which have staggered poles

It could be static electricity. Try this simple test, and I know it sounds corny but trust me. Take a anti-static dryer sheet, like Bounce , and rub it on your pickguard. Then see if you still have crackling. If it goes away, then it is static. If not you have a connection or possible ground problem. Two other guys, Martin or Niki might has some ideas too....
