bought a MIM strat for 100 dollars less then the standard price. it's beautiful, cant put her down. its a 2007 (new) that has been in the store for quite a while. not sure on the color it seems allot darker and deeper then lake placid blue. looks kinda like a candy blue if that color exists? sent email to consumer relations so we'll see soon.

went to get strings for my acoustic and checked price of this guitar and decided to buy it, i was gonna buy it around Christmas but it was on sale and i had the money so... just wasnt sure whether to get candy apple red or blue but decided on blue.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

:D

Candy Apple Blue is a cool colour,I refinished my '65 Mustang with it after the previous owner sanded off the original finish and poorly varnished it. Its certainly eye catching now.

her she is, if anyone knows the color... I haven't heard from fender yet. these shots dont do her any justice, my camera couldn't get the details of the paint such as the sparkle. depending on the light she can look realy sparkly dark blue or totally black.

one more thing, the whammy bar is at an angle, when the tip of it is pointing away from the neck it is closer to the finish. is this normal? i have a squier that I've had for 2 years and it's whammy is at the same level wherever it faces.

Thanks.

Hi pink-floyd-fan: some of my favorite guitar purchases have been when just popping into a shop for some strings. Way to go! 8)

Guitslinger has told you the official color: above^^^.

Regarding the trem arm: it looks like your bridge is set quite flush to the face of the guitar. Can you up-bend at all? If you float that bridge some more it will tilt it forward further and that will lift the tip of that arm further away from the body when it is angled backward. Get what I mean?

Enjoy your nice new Strat! - C

I don't have much productive to say......

Other than that amazing colour blue has been added to my ever growing list of colours I must own on a strat one day. LOVE it.

yeah, i cant stop staring at it. it was in the middle of some lake placid blues and stood out, it had been there for a while and since i was planning on buying a new guitar sooner or later when i saw there was a sale i jumped on it.

Hey guys I just heard back from fender and they say the color is electron blue. Don't think that color is in their color chart :? Maybe it was discontinued? Just though I'd let you know.

I end up decking all my Strat bridges and consequently have to rebend the arms in the vise-a very simple job with a little trial and error and I have yet to have an arm break.

she sounds amazing. they are stock pickups but sound alot better than my squier, she is also brighter then my squier but that might be due to the maple fretboard. before buying a guitar i was planning on getting lace sensors but i thing for now i'll leave it like it is and later get locking tuners and maybe the lace sensors.
