I am thinking about buying a Warmoth neck and body to build a hardtail strat.

Does anyone know if I can get it pre-drilled for a Callaham hardtail bridge?

Hardtail bodies are not generally drilled for a bridge since there are several varieties available, each with their own unique mounting requirements.

Actually Warmoth offers a couple different pre-drills for hardtails.

I would see if callaham's bridge uses the Vintage Fender spacing, i think it does, and then go with that.

That's what I was thinking, thanks for feedback.

Via the Warmoth Strat body builder, listed hardtail routes:
Fender® American Standard Flat Mount
Gotoh 12 String
Gotoh 510, Angled Pocket
Narrow Strat® Flat Mount
No Bridge Rout
Recessed TOM/Angled Strings
Recessed TOM/Arched Strings
Recessed TOM/Staggered Strings
Schaller 456,Angled Pocket
Schaller 475
TOM/STP, Angled Pocket
Vintage Strat® Flat Mount

When in doubt, give them a call - Warmoth will almost always cater to the customers wishes for a (possible) upcharge unless its something they can't really pull off.

Orc your post makes it look like I said the bodies aren't drilled for a hardtail bridge, when I know that's not the case, The one in my project thread ( http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=43114 )was pre drilled for fender Vintage. I just don't know how closely the Callaham conforms to that spacing.

No, nothing so nefarious.

Just thought I'd list what I found using the builder.

I have no experience with hardtails, as I believe anything NOT equipped with a double-locking trem 'The Devil'.

heh, just with how you boxed off the quote, the words following "Twelvebar wrote:" were by someone else, and only something i quoted.

on the double locking trem, now that I am older, I have less patience to adjust them, and barely use my whammy let alone do any divebombing, or multi step bends with them.

Is the Aces High project done yet? last I saw of it looked very sweet.

Send them the bridge and they'll drill the holes. Works that way for most non-standard hardware, although I would think the Callaham is a direct drop-in. It's made to replace a strat bridge, so...

Right on. I actually use mine constantly - I guess it all depends on what you play.

Thanks! I actually spoke with the painter today - he had some unforseen difficulties. Nothing that can't be remedied, it just requires more time. Hopefully I'll have the body back in a couple of weeks. 8)
