I have 3 Robert Cray Standard Strats, Sunburst, Silver, Violet. I love them. It has chrome vintage style hardtail bridges with the vintage saddles. I would like to replace them with gold bridges(like Mr. Crays Custom Models). WHERE can I get them at a good price that will FIT. Please advise. Thanks everyone

Best,

Unless you wish to pay robber baron prices to have your bridges gold-plated, here's a cost-effective way to accomplish your aims.

Buy the gold vintage hardtail bridge that Allparts sells: this is the ordering number......

P/N SB-0100-002

The base plate is a drop-on replacement for the Fender plate. The assembly comes with a set of generic cast saddles (similar to those on mid/late '70s Strats).

Replace them with a set of "FENDER-FENDER" saddles from a vintage-size gold-plated trem bridge (either MIA or MIM, just as long as they're for a 2-7/32" bridge).

Don't forget, you'll need the gold string ferrules as well......

Fender P/N 0018876049

The vintage-issue gold bridge cover (despite the description on the part's packaging) will fit the hardtail bridge.

Trust me, I've been around the world with this dilemma......TWICE.

HTH

Another option is to plate them yourself.

These DIY kits are not expensive but I can not vouch for how well they work.

I can say I have seen those guys that go around gold plating emblems and trim on cars and it seems to work very well. It is just electroplate. They hook a battery to some probes and the chrome turns gold. The gold plating is so thin, it really does not cost too much as far as gold used.
