These are my three HRR strats. I've had the two tone sunburst for years now. I used to have the MIA Floyd Rose classic, but I Prefer these MIJs. I just picked up the crimson one. It's pretty rare. Crimson fotoflame is more common in the Squier version of this guitar. I found it on my local craigslist. It's in near mint condition. The seller said he hadn't played it in about 10 years, and it shows. It's in amazing condish for a 17 year old guitar. I've only had the white one for about a month, but I'm going to have to sell, because I need the cash.

Cool HRR.

The first HRR I picked up on ebay about 5 years ago was a black HRR60s Stratocaster. Unfortunately, it had some pretty bad damage so I sold it, but it got me hooked(obsessed) on this particular model. Over the last five years, I've bought and sold several of these. Currently, I own the Sunberst HRR50's and the Crimson Fotoflame HRR60's in the picture above.

I'm hooked on em now too, I've only got the 60's one so now I'm dyin to get a 50's one with the maple neck. A guy had a surf green one on craiglist about 2 hours north of me the other day for $400 but by the time I called him he'd already sold it.

A Fender Frontline article told the original Richie Sambora Stratocaster was "rooted" on the HRR series. I don't think Richie ever used an HRR Strat.

Image

The HRRs were the precursors to the Floyd Rose Classic series of 1992, better known as the "American Special Strat HSS and HH w/ Floyd Rose". These guitars are no longer produced.

Iron Maiden's guitarist Dave Murray used a couple of HRRs (including a Candy Apple Red HRR60, which is very similar to the Floyd Rose Classic Stratocaster shown below the RS signature) in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Sadly, this is the only pic I can find of mine!

This is probably not long after I got it somewhere in the 1993 or so range.

Hey kcfenderfan, I was reading a diff forum, where you said the HRRs were made in the same factory as the Ibanez RG guitars. I'm guessing it's the Fujigen factory. Do you know what other guitar companies made their guitars there?

Yes, they were made by Fujigen. Most of the early "Made in Japan" Squiers (and many of the later ones) and Heartfield by Fender were also made by them.

On the non-Fender front they used to make Yamahas, Grecos, and more recently the Orville by Gibson models and the Epiphone Elitists.

I think they also make the MIJ Gretsch models.
