Hello,

Does anyone know the difference between HBS and HSS?
I can't find the info between a HSS-1 guitar and the similar model HBS-1 guitar, but they are priced differently.

That's odd!!
The acronym HSS stands for the pickups configuration (Humbucker , Single , Single). SSS stands for (Single, single, single)

I don't know what the heck HBS is!!?? (Humbucker, BALD, single????)

Are you SURE about that acronym?

^Thanx for the reply, but yes I'm sure. Here is a link:

and here, I can't tell the difference between the two:

The HBS-1 has been around for a while and is a "standard" CS model; I think the other one is either a limited edition or a special run for a dealer from the CS.

There's a mistake in the spec sheet. This guitar is a 22-fret model, not a 21-fret. Look at the picture!

The CS website says the HBS-1 Strat "has 21 medium-jumbo frets", but it's wrong!

I went back and looked at the video clips this time (I'll admit I only looked at the titles last time and didn't play the videos). I believe the video from "The Music Farm" is mislabled. The guy IS playing the HBS-1 Strat even though it is labled "Custom Shop Classic 60s HSS Relic Stratocaster." The specs they list are clearly the same as the HBS-1 Strat.

In fact, I don't think Fender would call a Strat with a maple board '57 V-shape neck a "60s" Strat; a "60s" Strat it would have a C-shaped neck with a rosewood board.

i thought the same way, but 60s. didnt have humbuckers right...

but i read somewhere else, being that that guitar is the core of my inspiration for my american deluxe vneck, that its a 60s body and a
"57 style" and 2 cs 69 pickups and i believe an sh4 seymour duncan hb.
i believe......
hmm, funny though its not in the custom shop page, but the hbs is
heres the link.... sorry no mention on 60s body or type of hb.
http://www.themusicfarm.com/products/Fe ... 221775e56f

ps read the COA, johns right.. hbs-1 model, no mention classic 60s.
noly by music farm.

HBS is when Robin says to Batman, "Holy Bat Strat!!"

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
