thanks! :D

I don't think you are supposed to solicit a personal guitar for sale on this site like that. But a loophole is to simply post a link with the pics and info from an ad such as eBay...this way potential buyers can view your feedback and history as a seller.

I chuckled at this guy's username, mainly due to the fact he is using my band's name (most likely he pronounces it in the traditional sense, as opposed to our pronunciation - "Pull-leg-gro")

I guess though with PMing back on the forums, you could sell stuff under the radar technically...

We should seriously not find any loopholes for this Forum. Things got bad enough with Eldred recently and who knows what the spinoff from that might be. :?

Was reading the posts here and thought I'd chime in....... What I have is a Dark Cherry Sunburst Sambora Signature series with an SE 921584 serial number. I ordered this guitar straight from Fender in 93. I have the assembly tag which has Prep - 1, Assembly - Maria V , Tune/Test - signature, and Inspector - stamped....... below this on the ticket is a hand written part no. 1102702 this is written in magic marker then a dot . after this and 830 in ink written......... on the next line below is my serial number matching the neck - SE 921584.......... now, written next to it on an angle is 524................. I think it would require a letter to get an exact build date? The 1993 number on yours does not equate to the year........IMO. I also have a RS Stratocastor controls sheet - 8 1/2 X 11 listing the electronics and this is noted by S.GOTO with a date of March 15th, 1993. This is also a very early Sambo. Peace 8)

Hmmmm......SE9 should denote 1989 according to conventional dating, unless something changed and SE 92 signifies 1992 for this model. Fender's use of back dated necks on later model guitars is proported to be not unusual.

The SE9s are another of Fenders known serial number "anomalies". I guess because back in 1989 there were only 2 signature models (the Clapton and the Malmsteen) Fender took quite a while to use them up. The necks are not back dated, just the serial numbers. Fender didn't "catch up" the signature/"S_ _" serial numbers until sometime in 1993 or maybe even 1994. They jumped from "SE9XXXXXX" numbers to "SN4XXXXXX" numbers.

It's kind of like the "E4XXXXX" numbers being used in for American Standards from late 1986 well into 1988, the "S9XXXXX" numbers being used from 1979-1981, the accidental use of "N9XXXXX" numbers in early 1990 instead of using "N0XXXXX" numbers (which was corrected early that year), and the use of regular "Z0XXXXXX" numbers on American Deluxes early in 2000 instead of "DZ0XXXXXX" numbers (also corrected fairly early that year).

Never really thought this guitar would be a collector's item. I've played it maybe 5 times since I've owned it. My bad. I lean towards the acoustics as I play my 93 Breedlove cutaway and my '06 Martin D-28 Marquis Sunburst............ My Sambo is literally showroom new LOL Plastic wrap is still on the pickguard ............ Nice rig indeed - have to play 'er a bit ?

Thanks for the expostion. That pretty much explains, in detail, the intent of my use of the term.
