Its kinda worrys me that fender isn't sending out any of its top of the line instruments anymore. i hope its not the start of only mexican made crap being available

Well they are turning out Custom Shops and all the lines advertised. Just not in the quantity to meet the demand. I do not think they laid off many or any people in the Mexico Plant. Funny thing is, you go to their facility in California and they have a large group of Mexicans working on the USA made guitars. So what is the difference between south or north of the boarder? Maybe components? Far as I can tell, a lot of these workers are really good at what they do. I do not mean to open up a MIM verses made in USA debate. they have skilled workers at the USA plant for sure. Makes me wonder who got laid off? and how that decision was made? It must have been across the board, as I know the Rep i talked too said they were having a hard time finding "skilled craftsmen" to hire to take up the slack. As as was mentioned on this thread already, that those they let go must have moved on or would not want to come back knowing they were already let go once before.

Wonder if there's any apprenticships going? Dream job

I bet the pay isn't that good and one would have to work their way up. Not a great incentive to try to get work there. Would be interesting to find out. Seems in this thread somewhere among all these pages someone actually posted Fender's available positions and maybe pay, etc. You want to become a yank there niki??? LOL!

Anything to get out of this dead in the water land mate.

Place is going nowhere cept down. In one hundred years we've gone from being the country that controlled the world to a country on the verge of bankruptcy and zero prospect for change.

Update on Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster guitars availability
In Winnipeg Canada Mother's Music now has one American Deluxe on display, St. John's Music hasn't received one yet. Long & McQuade has four on display. After playing one there I would say that I love the sound of N-3 pick-ups and revised S-1 switching system. If I only could have one guitar then a Fender 2010 American Deluxe Stratocaster would be the one that I want. I have been playing Rock and all styles of music for years professionally and I have worked in sales and guitars repairs for music stores. I changed my mind about the necks and find them to be comfortable to play.

I didn't know you can patent a color. So if I mix blue and yellow I can patent "blellow?"

Kidding aside...I guess this makes my 2002 American Standard that much more valuable..or at least desirable. Supply and demand baby ;)
