As I live in Brazil theres no way for me to go local store.
My intention is for a Black/Rosewood American Standard, as it states on GC/MF site as INSTOCK. Is it for real ? Can I order it no fear ?

In Canada we haven't seen many American Fenders either at Long & McQuade ( many locations across Canada ) Mother's Music or St John's Music. Finally Long & McQuade in Winnipeg has two sunburst American Deluxes on display. I really want one but both necks are kind of clubby and don't feel taht great past the 5th fret. The body wood ahs brwon lines in it. They don't look up to the notmal standard for Fender to me. I may wait longer to get one because I have lots of Fender guitars already.

Like the other people said. there were no floods at the Fender factory and the American guitars for most models use polyurathane and not laquer. there was a rumour that staff was laid off but I kinda doubt that.
I want to buy a 2010 Amercian Deluxe Strat because I want the N-3 pick-ups and the reconfigured S-! switching system. I treid two SB Am Del that are finally on idsplay at Long & McQuade but the necks feel very clubby. in Canada we didn't get many American Fenders especially Am Del Strats at St. John's Music, Mother's Music or Long & McQuade ( many stores across Canada. I didn't like the look of the brown thin lines in the wood on the sunbursts. They never had those on there too often. It seems like the guitars were rushed out.

They still can't find a paint supplier? Heck I will go to the paint store and send them a few gallons of poly if they need.

When I talked to a Fender rep in charge of marketing a while back, he told me that yes there was some paint supplier issues as one of their main suppliers went out of business and they were dealing with new suppliers. BUT, he also added that fender was in the middle of some patent issues over some of their colors and that was holding some things up too. He did not go into details.

He confirmed for a fact that fender did lay off a large number of workers when this recession hit and now they have been getting slammed with orders and they do not have the skilled craftsmen in place to meet the demand of orders. He said it was good that they have way more orders than projected, but frustrated in not being able to fill those orders in a timely manner due to a small work force. To put it bluntly, they are swamped with orders....

This is kind of scary, i was planning to buy a fender deluxe strat and now if this is true ("...have been getting slammed with orders and they do not have the skilled craftsmen in place to meet the demand of orders...") as Xhefri said.

Im really angry at fender an their last deccisions. They are destroying the most amazing brand in the history of music just to make a few more bucks.

Great idea....or do like I do, i buy 1990's Strats. Great investments, good prices, and well built guitars. Some really nice ones to choose from too, everything from a Lone Star, to a DX American to the Plus, Plus DX and Ultra, and a host of others. I have even seen a few 1990s's Custom Shops go for the price of the New American Strat.

Do you got any flametop for 800 bucks ?
