What sound are you looking for?

What type of music do you play?

Budget?

Is it for home use or to gig with?

If it's for gigging, what size venues do you play?

There are many questions to ask as there are so many types of amp for all different purposes and budgets!

You don't mention what size venues you may be using it for?

The Fender SuperChamp XD is a very versatile amp which covers a wide range of sounds and also has a few 'effects' built in. It is also extremely loud for its size.

You may be able to find one of these within your price range, particularly if you buy used!

Hope this helps

Russ :)

What is a Whic amp?

:D :)

If all you are doing is playing at home, a Fender Champion 600 would do just fine.

A Peavey Delta blues 210 would be a good choice if you plan to later on do small gigs or play with friends.

Check out the Marshall Zakk Wild mini stack, you can get super clean or blues like distortion or the real chainsaw raw metal wail. It's only 15 W but it'll be plenty loud for your house and jamming,I think that Marshall is a bit conservative with their ratings as a 15 W Marshall seems to be much louder than other 15 W amps.

You'll notice the same of Vox or Orange amps...

...I'm not sure of the exact details, but I'm told it's due to the way we Brits measure the output...

I don't think it's anything to do with the watt rating of a amp. Watts don't really describe volume very well.

We just don't scoop mids.

The Super Champ seems like a good amp for you, good value too. Versatile as well. The only drawback I see is the 10 inch speaker. I gotta have a 12. Especially playing with others. That said, you could always get an external speaker cab down the road. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
