hey guys, im relatively new to the forums, and i have a question in dire need of answering. i have a strat with a seymour duncan hotrail in the neck and a seymour duncan JB Jr. in the bridge. the middle pickup is stock, as i couldnt let myself swap out such a great sounding pickup :P. now, my question: i bought a push pull knob, 500k. is there a way i could install it so that when engaged it only splits the neck and bridge pickups? a wiring diagram would be GREATLY appreciated, whether its handmade or a link. ive checked the seymour duncan page, and i cant seem to figure out which diagram applies to me...thanks in advance guys :)

The following is for a coil tapped Les Paul. Apply your third pickup in the same fashion.

hmmm ok this could be helpful. my one question is, since my strat only has one push pull knob, would there be a different configuration? or is it not possible to split those two with only one push pull?

Hello!

Yep it is possible to split two HB's with one push/pull pot. Check the link bellow. Its the 5th or 6th pic in.

Hope this helps and let us know how you get on. :D

Hi Scubby302,

Good stuff! Glad your enjoying the build. If your into your mods then stick around for some big hairy wiring later!

I'd be very interested in hearing your impressions of the Duncans once split.

Andy

the new pot is in :) !! it sounds great, a really diverse tone. i think with distortion it sounds great, the split coil really brings out the trebly crisp qualities of the bridge pickup, and soloing sounds incredible. best part: push the knob down again and its as thick and creamy as before! on clean is where it really shines though, its brings out that beautiful strat chime and that classic funky sound, almost like a slap bass. but you guys know how single coils sound, this is the stratocaster forum after all :P. ill be sure to post pictures and/or a video asap, hopefully tomorrow :). but overall id say this was a great mod, and im glad i did it.
