haha, I don't know if you remember, but in your thread I mentioned that i had stopped drinking while trying to get into shape. (there have been some threads talking about weight loss in fact too, so there's another crossover to.)

Anyway, the 'beer gut' is gone, but I also raised the bar on my fitness goals and started a training program. I am not quite there yet, so no beer for a bit.

Coincidentally today is actually exactly 7 months since my last beverage.
I'm on my way out the door to work, I'll do my best to answer your queries when I get back.

Also, I have almost completely finalized my logo. (I have an acquaintance that can do the printing.) Given the nature of my finish, i am thinking of using the more silver-looking metallic of the later transition logo's big 'F'. But not in the way you think. everything needs a bit of a twist eh?

Thanks for all the kind words. is it crazy I already have 3 (possibly 5!! ) more projects that are trying to make their way into the customization shop? especially considering I have like almost no free time?

(I am saving the one Orvilleowner has been waiting for, to the very last. arguably this Strat was the most complex paint job--by far trickier than anything i have ever tried--it was not only my first candy paint job, but the first time for metallic, aside from part of a friends bicycle a long time ago.) the one i know Orville wants to see has far less room for error, and so i will do it last, so i trust my spray technique more.

Yes, indeed I do remember. Very admirable: so here, have a tasty non-alcoholic Horlicks instead. Oooh yummy. ...Um...

Scratching my head to recall which project it is that Orville especially wants to see. I guess we're all hoping your weather stays dry and warm for some time...

Hi Twelvebar,

Awesome mate. Great thread!

I know what you mean about build thread prep. I does take a long time to go through all the pics then resize them. I take loads so I'll have at least one decent shot when I get home to view them.

I can't begin to imagine what a mission taping up that Strat must have been. I have HUGE respect for you guys who have the patience and skill to pull that method of finishing off.

To quote Darth Vader....

Oh. My. Jimi.

I really do have some difficulties dealing with four (!) different fixes of build thread per day... Is there a known condition linked to overdose of guitar builds? Is there? Oh. Right. Well. Any remedy? Ah. Follow more build threads. Hmm. Doesn't sound too bad a treatment  ...

One word: Loverly!

Take it away...

Fondly,

The Nutter

PS: Should we maybe start a thread where links to new build threads can be posted to create a kind of index? Might be a useful, educational & entertaining encyclopedic institution. Then again, maybe it's been done and I just haven't found it yet.

Actually not a bad idea!!! There has been some great build threads over the years here that fairly newcomers to the forum will not be able to find using the cumbersome search button on the forums.

I'll save Orville the trouble. I have some fairly ambitious plans for this one:

(yeah that's how small Molly is, unlike a certain MaineCoon we have recently seen pictures of.)

I'll be referencing Andybighair's grain filling tutorial for this. And using a certain batch of finishing stuff Mr. Ceri has shown interest in

this stuff has all been sitting around too long. if you think the 3 or so months this Strat project sat around was a long time, that is practically a snap of the fingers compared to when this one surfaced. I believe i set the neck the same day someone did this:

Hee-hee - ah, now I do! (Thanks for the BIG hint.)

I just assumed that geet had been finished and packed off to Mr Slash ages ago. That fella must be getting a bit impatient by now...

BTW: that body in the pic with the G-cramp looks a mess. What awful routing! Lotta work to do on that one...

Cheers - C

So about how long will we have to wait to see that Les Paul Project take shape? Gotta practice shooting a sunburst finish?

He's the sarcastic sort.

Be Bop Deluxe nod there.
