Hey everyone

My father recently purchased a Fender from an older gentleman. I've tried researching the guitar but have obtained no results. Perhaps some of you can help.

My father does not own a computer and can not send me pics of this guitar so I rely on his account for the description of the instrument.

The body is like that of a Stratocaster. The color is sea foam green. The neck is maple with 22 frets. The headstock read "Fender USA Nashville Edition". The fender logo is like the old spaghetti logo. Stratocaster is not written on the headstock.

The words "special edition" are written on the body of the guitar right above the pickguard. That is all the info I've got. As I've mentioned, I have no means to get pics of the guitar. So for those of you who know something about this guitar, all information is appreciated.

Thanks

John

Hi JohnDC: are you sure the body is a Strat? If so I'm confused: the words "Fender" and "Nashville" usually go together on Telecasters. A quick Google will find you info on the Special Edition Nashville Tele - but I'm in the dark if this really is a Strat.

So I'll be watching this thread and hoping to learn more! :)

Good luck - C

Hi JohnDC,

You really need to go and take some pictures, especially of the following: Headstock front and back, body front and back, closeup of entire pick guard, closeup of bridge, and neck plate. If you can take the pick guard off, and or take the neck off and take more pics, it would make for a positive ID, as there are sometimes stickers/markings in those covered areas. Fender shows no listing of a "Nashville Strat", only a "Nashville Tele". Could be custom made by someone, hard to tell without pics. :)

I'll see if I can get my father to have one of his friends take pics of the guitar.
That way this will probably help our search. Right now we are wondering what the heck it is. My search has also yielded "Nashville Deluxe Telecaster", which is not the same as this guitar which has a strat body and reads " Fender USA Nashville Edition".

I'll post the pics as soon as I get them.

Thanks again

John

Maybe somebody put a tele neck on a strat body.

It's been done before.

bluesky636: Nope that ain't it either. The neck of the guitar is like that of a tele thinline, but the headstock has a unique shape that can't be compared to a typical tele or strat. I've asked for pics of the said guitar, it's just a matter of time before I get them.

We thought it might be one of these strat with a tele neck but the head stock is different than a tele. I was thinking maybe a Fender Bullet but the guitar has no serial number on the neck, so it makes it hard to validate anything.

I'm hoping someone out there has one or knows something about this weird guitar. lol

Thanks everyone

The guitar TURNS OUT TO BE A FRAUD as I suspected. Oh well, at least he didn't pay top bucks thinking it was a vintage.
