I need a solution! The set screws in my vintage style bridge saddles (intonation/height adjuster set screws) dig into my palm when picking lead runs. I know shorter screws are available, 1/4" 4x40's but I thought I'd post here to see if anyone's come up with an quick fix for this problem. I dremeled down a set on one bridge, but it was time consuming, not to mention searching for them when they decided to take flight across the room!

You can use a concave fret crowning file to round out any spots on the screws that really pinch but aside from this, that's about it as any kind of coating on the screws to ease the digging in will render the screws semi to totally non-functional.

Unfortunately, here's a classic example of, "No pain, no gain!"

Although it may not look pretty try putting a strip of self adhesive 1/2 " foam tape across the top of the screws, the adhesive rarely leaves a residue.
