All I know is that it's made in Mexico (MIM) from a Standard Series Strat. Has an HSS p/u config, shiny pickguard, and the headstock and body are painted Aztec Gold.

Usually big retailers like Musician's Friend or Sam Ash commission issues like this from Fender, Gibson, etc. But I'm not really sure of its origin.

Hi, I have had one of these guitars for a couple of years. very nice playing strat and I believe only 600 were made. The pups are fender standard ceramic, not very good and the pickguard is steel. I replaced the pups with copperhead hand wound singles, added a fender parchment pickguard with the black knobs and pup covers it now sounds incredible! The action at the nut was too high as well, fixed that too. The guitar is pretty basic aside from the metal guard and painted headstock. There is also a silver sister out there to match this guitar, just silver with a gold pickguard. The guitar is better than a standard strat, just not the electronics. Hope this helps!!

I've often wondered what people want when they ask for "more info" on their guitars. Just what kind of info are they looking for? I mean you can go to any number of sites to find the year and plant it was made in.

The rude guy here, he knows what model and year it is. What more could he want? A history of the design? The names of people who worked on his particular axe? Just what is "more info"??

1- what makes this special ? other than it now belongs to me : )
2-is this a fat strat ? or just run of the mill ?
3-were these only made in limit numbers . years ?
4-are there any reviews of this guitar ?

thank you all

hey bluestube
the serial number is mz5107575
now i believe the mz is for mexico
and the 5 is for 2005 the rest is the serial number
but i could be wrong

i also have a 96 squire pro-tone strat which is by far the best guitar i have ever had but this golden sister is a great player and quite a bit lighter than the squire .

to the helpful people .... thank you
to the people saying i'm a $@! ... i already knew that too ; )
