Anyone seen any 'Splattercasters' lately? Are they becoming hard to find?

Before the Splattercasters was the Bowling Ball Strats. Do any of you remember these?

this i my first post in the forums, but i have been "lurking in the shadows" for quite some time now. but speaking of splatocasters, back in 2004 there was a guy who won GuitarWorld magazine's "design your own guitar" contest, and the guitar he designed was called the "splat-o-caster" which had a body made from bottles of some kind of oil/ fluid that were then placed inside this metal shell of a strat. i thought the guitar looked pretty cool personally. i read somewhere a while later that the guy tried to sell the guitar on ebay for like $25k( thats how much it cost to build the guitar according to the magazine). but anyways does anybody know if he ever sold that guitar. i think it would be pretty bad $@! to have a guitar you designed built for you by fender, but to actually have it built and then sell it is just crazy.

There's a used Mexican one at my local shop. I have no idea how much they're asking though.

Hi, welcome to the Forum. It is great you decided to make a comment. I wish I could answer your question, but I thought at least I could say Hi!!!

Ya have to ask yourself, How did he do this? By beating out a piece of sheet aluminum...and putting aluminum cross bracing and cambers and a neck socket and then have it come out looking flawless like this? WOW! :o :o :o :o Thanks for sharing Nevin!
