I just purchased a MIM Stratocaster that is gloss black and has a gloss black headstock face. The headstock has "Fender Stratocaster" in white on it and "Deluxe Series" on the round part of the head stock. The back has a serial number that says "MX4195994" with "Made in Mexico" under that.

This strat also has a chrome metal pickguard set up in a HSS configuration. The pickups are black. It has two knobs that are knurled chrome knobs and a chrome selector switch. The neck appears to be rose wood and has large rectangle mother of pearl inlays in the fret board. (kind of like a Gibson). The neck plate has nothing on it. The back cover plate is black plastic.

Is this guitar stock and any ideal what the value is?

Hi PilotDave, welcome to the Forum.

If your guitar looks like this then it is the Big Block Strat:

I don't know when it was discontinued: I notice that it was still there in my 2006 catalog, and I believe it probably ran for a year or two more after that.

More info here:

Cheers - C

That's what I have, I thought it was all aftermarket stuff on it. I traded a keyboard for it that I had $150 into it. Never owned a Strat, this one seems pretty nice
