I was looking at the photos of the strats in the entry "Pics of your strats.
I noticed there were a lot of Strats that did not have their tremlo bars attached. Why is this.

I can only speak for myself, but my preference not float the trem (keep it flat to the body) This larglely eliminates the need for the trem arm, and I can still just give it a pull with my fingers if I need it.

Also, I would suspect that when most people are pulling their guitars out of cases to take pictures, thety are simply not putting the trem arm on.

hi, like he say before it´s true. but the true is depends in your taste of play the guitar. well that´s what i think.

I only put my trem bar on when I need it. When I'm practicing or have it in the case, it is usually off.

I find leaving it on can also make your guitar go out of tune easier. But that might just be me.
