Hi everyone,
This is my first time this forum, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Alex a recording engineer.

I just lost my job and need the money so I could use some help trying to identify my Strat. I am trying to sell it, but can't find any info on it, as far as why it's "special edition." I bought it in 04-05 and according to the serial number list that's when it was made. It is a Mexican made strat, but what's confusing me is there are 6 numbers after the MZ4 not five like the website lists. MZ4245902

The guitar is black with chrome hardware, 2 single coils, and a humbucker. Not positive on the woods. The headstock matches the body, and has a special edition sticker on the back. The pickguard is brushed steel/aluminum, black and has sort of a fan design.

If someone will let me know how to post pics on here I will gladly do it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

AP

Welcome.

From what I've noticed:

Many Fender Special Run (FSR) Strats have an extra digit in the serial number.

Ironically, all the MIM FSRs I know of are far from scarce in terms of how many of a particular model are out there.

If someone wants a particular FSR bad enough, they'll pay up to what it cost new.

Ballpark top dollar for yours would probably be around $400 but I wouldn't bank on getting that much though. Rather, it would probably be about $50 more tops than the going rate in your area for any used, condition dependent MIM.
