Mr. C. I am GREEN with envy! :P :P You turned down a chance to she her built? Wow, ya, kick yourself over that one! Very nice combo, I must say, chap... Now you have me going, I need get out a red Strat, spray paint one of my Fender amps red and set them in front of my MR2!!!

Just wondering, Did Jag ever get rid of the Lucas wiring systems? I know in the 70s they called it The Prince of Darkness Wiring Systems. I had a Triumph motorbike (650 Bonneville) that had Lucas on it...man sometimes she ran, sometimes she didn't and sometimes she charged the battery and sometimes she didn't!

Ha - Jaguar have a strange relationship with electonics. There certainly was a period back in the day when their wiring was absolutely notorious, that's perfectly true. And other odd things: they were amongst the first to put CD players in cars, but back in those days when that sort of item was a target for theft from vehicles they decided to put the CD changer... in the trunk. And then went on doing so for years after everyone else had moved on. Our 2001 model still has it's CD player in the back - I hope they have given that up by now!

On the other hand I can remember a TV program from my teenage years when Jaguar had just invented reversing sensors on the back bumper - here we are decades later and some manufacturers still haven't caught up with that.

So, swings and roundabouts on the electrics...

Must admit, I'm personally not wild about the looks of the new XF, which is suddenly everywhere you look in town. But have you seen the latest XKR? My neighbor has one - oh mammy!!! 8) Funky website too:

Cheers - C

Cool! Flash driven website. The XKR is sweet, and I hope I do not sound derogatory, but is slightly resembles the old Datsun 280Z! Opps, I should not have said that! ...... Or maybe better said, it resembles the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. I have always been a sucker for the DB9.... Thanks for sharing that website!

My neighbor had a black Jag and he pulled the motor out and put in a hopped-up Chevy 350 small block. He said it was a pretty easy bolt in. His wife totaled it.

Haha - you're not wrong about that Datsun! A great look always comes back in the end! :D

Someone once described the Jag as a poor man's Aston Martin. Not a very poor man, though! Personally, I could be happy with either.

So happens a friend of mine lives in the English spa town of Harrogate - where Daniel Craig also lives. He says Craig is often spotted around town in a V8 Vantage that Aston Martin gave him just so's he'd be seen out in their motor. This:

Life's tough for some...

Talent booster? You don't need it, mate. Your knobs are all set to "scream" already! (As the serious bits of this thread show.)

My stepson's been driving one for several years now and he's totally out of love with it.. But I'm never out of love with those guitar's Xhefri builds.
