ebaysux: sorry to hear! I know how that feels!! If I see one I will keep my eyes open.

Ryan: which one the sambora strat or the one ebaysux is after? To each his own either way.

They both look like strats to me, well every guitar in this case was a strat. Personally I don't really mind the looks of the FR on the Samboras, I just don't like the setup. But then again I prefer hardtails.

Granted beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in my opinion, those star inlays are killer. I wish I had the skill to make my own necks like that. I can't imagine it being an easy task to install those inlays and make it look as right as Fender did.

ebaysux, that is the truth. I love fender strats in general and own 2 right now, on top a warmoth custom strat I own and a custom Sambora strat/floyd redmond hybrid I had built for me.

Anybody have any leads on a usa strat in general.....I don't mind the color so much nor the condition as I want to play it at live gigs.....but I do prefer the mark I and the cherryburst finish.

Agreed! To me the Sambora model strat is the best one I have played and most consistant in sound and playability in my honest opinion.

Anyone here own one that is willing to sell it? I am trying to find one but not having any luck.

Since what I like most about the Sambora is the star inlays..I wonder what it would cost to have a pro luthier install a set on one of my USA maples.

Yeah now it got me thinking...Black with maple...Black star inlays. Or do I dare do red star inlays on my red strat? Or maybe red strat, all black hardware, pick guard, knobs and covers, and black star inlays?

I really like the pearl too, I guess i should ask around. surely someone I know in LA knows someone who can do this.

Ditto Tube Screamer. Why in the hell would anyone be willing to part out an authentic Sambora Strat. That in itself would make me question the 'real McCoy' of it.

The RS Strat in its original form uses two TX Specials pickups and a DiMarzio PAF Pro.

However, this 1996 sample has two dual-coil ceramic Noiseless pickups, which are not stock. There weren't Noiseless pickups on the Sambora Strats until 1999!

Hey rdfnd1253, didn't want you to think i forgot about you. Still looking and so are some of my friends and contacts. Still no luck those axes are kind of rare. I did find a strat that was signed by sambora, but it was not a sambora strat..false alarm.

Thanks ebaysux...I am still searching myself but not havingmuch luck. I saw one for sale at $2500 which isn't that bad of a price but it has some belt buckle rash on the back. I can't justify spending $2500 on a guitar with some belt buckle rash that isn't a vintage guitar. I also saw one for $2900 white one but come on that is grossly overpriced. I might just have to wait until the Sambora popularity plummets with the way their new albums are sounding.

Well yeah but the RS Signature Strats are from an era when he was producing some of his best guitar-work and that's never gonna change. I can only see the prices going one way in all honesty, especially as more and more of them fall into the hands of collectors.

As has been said already though, guitars (like anything) are worth what people are prepared to pay for them so if the going rate is $2500-2900, that's what they are worth just now. Just keep your eyes open for bargains as they will be few and far between and won't stick around long.

Congrats on the Black Paisley though. Make sure you post pics when you get it through. :D
