I am hearing different opinions about the necessity of replacing the pots if I want to install the noiseless pickups on my Strat. Some dealers say I need to replace the pots too only if I'm putting in the vintage ones, and some say I have to replace the pots for the hot noiselelss pickups too. Can someone please help me with this issue? Do I keep my old pots for the hot noiseless pickups or get new ones? Thanks.

Supposedly when you purchase the noiseless pup set..it comes with new pots, a cap and a resistor.

I do not know what the consequences will be if you just changed out the pups without changing the pots and components...but apparently Fender supplies the pots and components for a reason.

I put the Hot Noiseless pups in my strat, kept the original pots, and it sounds just fine.

No you don't need to if you decide they are too quiet you can go to 500K if you want.

There is no need what so ever to replace the pots when you install the Hot Noiseless pickups.

I have them in my 1999 USA Standard with it's standard pots and they sound great and work perfectly!

Hope this helps,

Russ
