Hello guys, I´m from Brazil, and I must buy online, so I have no way to test the hardware I want to buy. I´m running a Fender HWY1 Stratocaster through a Fender Pro Junior Tube Amplifier.
I´m really between these two pedals: Vox Tonelab ST vs. Digitech RP355.
I´m convinced that the amp modelers on the Vox Tonelab ST have much superior tone quality over the Digitech RP355. Is that right ?
What I´m really concerned is about the limitations on the Vox Tonelab ST about mixing effects. As I like the Gilmour and Hendrix tones, seems I can´t go with a Fuzz+Wah+Octavia on the Vox Tonelab ST right ? But what is really pushing me is the natural sound the Vox Tonelab ST amp modelers seems to have over the digital artificial sounding of the Digitech. Is that right ?
And how those will take affect on the Fender Pro Junior ? Does the tube vox tonelab will enhance the tone over the PJr ? Or the Digitech will do as the same taking place that in the end the PJr is alltube ?
Show me your thoughts please.

joa,
What I would recommend is that you go out and try them both. What may sound good to may may not be pleasing to you. I have the RP355 and absolutely love it. One of my buddies has the Vox and to me, it sounds thin, again that is just my opinion. I have not played on his Vox, but I can tell you that the extensive experience I have with the RP355 in both live and studio situations make it the only unit I like to take with me. Hope that this helps.
ABS :D

I actually have no way on testing them since i am in Brazil. I got a RP255 but to me sounds too digital / artificial effects as i hear the tonelabs from quality samples sounds sooo creamy. Now i got the oportunity of trading the RP255 for another, as on my thoughts i got the Vox Tonelab ST, Digitech RP355 and Boss ME-25. Im getting crazy for not having how to test them before deciding, so I´ll leave for you guys to decide for me. I´m not a metalhead. I´m after that great sparkly creamy bell tuby tone, but as well i must play some gilmour and hendrix tones.
That tone i heard from the tonelab sample is on my mind for about a week and im getting crazy about it. Damn G.A.S.

I have the original ToneLab and love it. Having said that, for your needs, you may also want to look at a Line 6 POD. You can mix in more effects, and they are supposed to sound better than the Digitech, if not as good as the Vox. Opinions vary.

Make sure you order from someone who'll give you 30 days or more to try the product and allow a return if you're not satisfied!

Im really thinking of the Vox Tonelab St along with a Dunlop Crybaby Wah. I think that the Fender Pro Junior will take them good and I wont regret dropping away the Digitech RP255. What u guys think ?

Hey man, i'm going through the same decision, I have the same options that you had with no chance to testing them (I'm from el Salvador), it's really frustrating, so I hope if you finally made a decision, can help me out with mine, what did you choose?, what would you recommend with your experience?

Thank you for your kind help :)

I'm not familiar with Digitech but I do know that when it comes to authenticity of amp and effects models it's hard to top Vox.The Vox models are just spot on in their realism compared to the real thing plus Vox has bullet proof reliability.
