Hello,

the post that connects to the volume knob broke off inside the knob tonight....this is a big problem as I play my strat religiously. I have read up and assume that the volume pot is a 250k. Does anyone else have any insight to this? I have heard of higher value pots on fat strats but I have an SSS. Also has anyone purchased pots from guitar center or sam ash? I would prefer to go buy one tommorow whether than wait for shipping from allparts. My Betsie feels naked without a volume knob I am very disgruntled by this.

Thank you.

It's an easy fix if you know how to solder. Just need a 250K Split shaft audio taper pot. Usually run like $6-$8 for a good one. About $3 for a no name brand.

This would be a good time to learn how to solder and how to replace the electronic parts on your guitar(s).

Good luck and have a lot of fun with it.

If you look in the support menu at the top of this page you will find your guitar and the exact fender replacement part number.
Support/Technical Specs/Wiring Parts Diagrams

It is hard to make a mistake if you stick to that. Also you can call stores ahead of time to see if they have it in stock.
If you don't have a soldering iron or skills get the store to fit (unless you want to learn something new).
