Yesterday while playing my 50th Ann Strat. I noticed that the bridge was floating about 1/8 " and consequently causing pitch changes in other strings when I did bends so I decked it thus lowering the action and now it's about 1/16 all the way down the neck and no buzzing and fretting out on bends.I played for about 1 1/2 hrs today with no hand pain something that I couldn't do for years. All my guitars will now be getting similar adjustments-what a difference.

Adding more springs or spring tension while keeping the bridge floating and setting the string height correctly at the saddles would have achieved a similar thing and you can still use the trem properly.

I know that I could have done that but I prefer the bridge decked anyway as I only use the downward function of the vibrato.I get notes to go sharp by pulling back slightly on the neck or above the nut bends.
