most likely the dents in the front is from someone doing a dive with the tremelo. the back scratch is another story. probably scratched with a belt buckle while the cover was off while setting trem tension.
just think of it as character marks.

Glad to hear that they rectified the problem-the replacement is beautiful I hope that you have many happy years with her.
