Hi all.

Ok, so I was looking at e-bay and looking for some custom shop pickups for my new strat, I only want the middle and the neck as i like the humbucker.

So I did a search or two, and in a search under custom shop start, I found a guy selling some 1969 custom shop pick ups for 52.00 each, and he only has two.
He also claims there signed and dated, so I look at his pictures.......

I think 110.00 for two with the shipping was a good deal, do you?

As I understand the 69 pickups, the ones marked ay are built under the supervision of Abby and the ones signed "Abby" are the ones actually handwound by the master herself.I have seen many misrepresent them on ebay to the unsuspecting. If I am wrong I would welcome correction who knows more about this than I.

I believe that is the case. However, it is also possible to purchase Custom Shop Neck Plates, Fender water decals, and even COA's on eBay, so the veracity of these items is forever in question.

ZZdoc is quite correct, you do need to be very careful dealing on the bay, but the seller has a solid track record, he deals in guitar items mainly, he has a other custom shop items for sale, and he sent them to me in a Fender box that dose state they were indeed made by Miss Abbie.
Seems he bought a set and use one, and had two to sell, which works for me as I only wanted two.
It came in this box here....

And they have a MSRP of 249.99, so 104.00 for two seems to be the going rate, and yes, there brand new.

We will know once there installed, I still think I did good.

Sounds like your onto a winner there mate. Ticks all the "make sure you're safe on ebay" boxes and half price for 2/3rds of the product is a good buy in anyones book.
