I am close to picking up a crimson red select strat HSS.
But I am pretty dang sure I will replace the pups.

Any foreseeable problems ?
Would it be easier to change the whole pick guard ?

I am good with soldering, I just never opened up a Fender (never had to )

(have opened up many other guitars though )

Its easier to swap the whole pick guard if you can't solder.

For replacing just two pickups you probably don't want to go to the extra expense of buying everything all over again however.

If you look up your guitar here:
Support/Technical specs/Wiring parts & diagrams

You will see the tone and volume pots it uses.
If you make sure your new pickups use the same pots then there should be no problems.

I would play your guitar before swapping out the pickups though. You might be surprised how happy you are with it.

dude through a seymour duncan or dimarzio in there the sound awesome and make the strat sound more ballsy then it already is
