I have a couple of nice maple necks that need a home.

AllParts has some nice finished strat bodes in ash and alder that are routed for SSS and no extra routing for humbuckers in any pocket.

Does anyone have any experience with their products, negative or positive?

Meet "Candace"......

She's an Allparts body with a MIM '60s re-issue neck, MIA hardware, and CS 57/62 pickups.

The neck/body assembly was as smooth as a prom queen's thighs and she turned out swell.

The Allparts Strat bodies are much closer to original spec than those from WD, especially the horn areas and the belly cut.

I've use Allparts necks on two different Jazz Bass builds -- both instruments are just as authentic as Candace, with "zero" assembly problems to report.

Thanks retro,

She is beautiful!

I have two MIK maple necks from Squier II's. They are very much like the ones you see on the current classic vibe Squiers. The feel is great and nice thick shiny finish. they are way too good for the plywood bodies that they came with. (both were $90.00 pawn shop queens.)

I studied getting Fender body but am unhappy with their propensity to route out all their bodies for HSS or HSH regardless of their target SSS use.

I wanted a SSS routed body, with as much wood as can be had. I am thinking Lake Placid Blue, mint pickguard and black covers and knobs for the lighter colored neck and 3 color sunburst, parchment pickguard and knobs for the neck that has a darker more amber hue.

57/62 pickups. This will be my first scratch build up. So I need to buy trems, pots etc.

So you like Allparts bodies, who is WD?

The Allparts bodies all have traditional S/S/S pickup routing and they stock both trem and hardtail versions (the latter unfinished only). Most standard colors are offered though I have never actually seen one of their sunburst finishes and cannot comment on the accuracy of the color feathering.

WD also makes guitar parts, including bodies......
