for $250 fender strat. Lowest I have seen so far for an mim.

can anyone tell what year you think it would be? I'm just getting back into playng guitar. I have heard from many the atomic humbucker is crap.

about me:
I am just getting back into player guitar after taking 15 years off. Blues and classic rock have recaptured my interest in playing. I have reallly enjoyed the last 2 months of playing, recapturing the feeling you get when you learn something or nail the lick/riff. Well my guitar will need to be updated if I continue to stick with classic rock and blues. I have an early 80's kramer pacer, floyd rose trem. I have the HSS setup: stock single coils in the bridge and middle and a Seymour Duncan Invader.

I really don’t know much about a guitar other than what feels good in my hands, what I can make sing. Any mods would be done in shop, not by me, but I am leaning towards buying a real strat instead of just upgrading the single coils in my Kramer. I'm happy with my Kramer now that I bought a used Vox modelling amp. Perfect size for my apartment jams, practicing and recording to the computer. But I am wondering how much difference I will hear/feel if I upgrade the pickups instead of getting a fender. I am considering a MIM or low end American made strat. I'm looking for a vintage sound, noiselss a plus but not required. My current influences are Joe Bonamssa, SRV, Walter Trout, Hendrix.

thanks for any advice and input.

It looks like a MIM Std. If it is pre-06, then I do recommend upgrading to a Fender OEM 06+ trem block which is bigger (you can buy a used one cheap on eBay that bolts right up -- very easy to do). The MIM Std Strats are killer guitars for the money. I'd be all over the Strat instead of the Kramer, but that is just my opinion. Also, live with the Atomic Humbucker for a while before changing it. Personally, I like Dimarzios, but the Atomic is good enough to survive at least the break-in period. Good luck.
