Are the American Deluxe models all prerouted for HSS configuration like the American Standards?

Hi oneal: are Am Stds routed HSS now? My 2005 has an HSH route, but perhaps that has changed in the last few years:

My 08 American Standard came configured SSS but when I opened it up to change pickguard I noticed it is routed for HSS if one wanted to switch to that.

I am assuming they are all that way, perhaps I am wrong.

Many MIA Strats are routed for HSH, though Fender produces Stratocasters with an HHH rout, allowing players to drop in a third humbucker in the middle position if desired.

The American Deluxes feature an HSH rout since their inception in 1998. Same thing for the 2008 American Standards.

My 2008 American Standard is routed for the single bridge humbucker.

I would rather Fender stop this practice. Just route them SSS and keep the extra wood.

All American Standard and Deluxe Strats came with an HSH rout, with few Factory Special Run versions having an HHH rout to allow players to install a third humbucker in the middle position for the versatility sake. Fender produces Stratocaster pickguards for both HSH and HHH pickup combinations.

The Mexican Standards, Deluxes, Highway 1s and American Specials are routed for HSS.

Well, perhaps my memory default and I am wrong. I have had just about all my squiers and MIM open lately and maybe I am getting something confused.

So, I take it, to get a Strat that has not been routed to death you have to by signature model or a classic reissue.

Unfortunate.
