I have wanted one of these for years and was so excited when Fender brought the guitar back at the 2009 NAMM. For my recent 40th birthday, I got an unexpected gift card to a music store. So I went in and ordered it. Should arrive from the Fender factory by this Friday. My only other strat is a partsocaster Yngwie. I just love scalloped necks so I am excited on the Blackmore scallop.
Anyways guys as soon as I get it I will post photos and links to soundclips.

I'll look forward to that.

As a Blackmore fan of many years standing, I'm obviously intrigued by the guitars he plays. But I wouldn't have his signature strat personally. For me it seems to be very far removed from what a Strat should be - 3 p/ups, low output level etc. I'm pretty committed to Fender's original design for the instrument. Maybe if I was wealthy, I might have just have one on display at home..

The neck looks like a serious mind set adjustment too. I just know that I'd have to use a scalloped neck pretty much full time to become fluent on it. I bet newbies struggle to play even simple chords without pushing the strings sharp.

Anway, fair play to you. Hope you enjoy it and let us see it!

Yes,

Let us know how things go. I like Blackmore a lot and have studied his guitar use somewhat.

I have never seen a Fender Blackmore in the real, only on internet. At times I have wanted one, but in the last analysis I am not much on signature guitars.

Congratulations.

OL

Hi Guys, I am back...

I have been saving forever for this and finally received it Friday. Build quality superb. Only issue was i heard like a sitar drone on the high E and B string as I played them open. So took it back to the guitar shop and it is now with a Fender Luthier. He said he thinks nut was not cut right. so In a way this is good as it will get a complete pro set up free of charge under the Fender warranty. Have you guys had any issues like this on new Fender guitar purchases. I was nervous on buying it as it was the most I have ever spent on a new guitar. I am sure when it comes back it will sound awesome.

Anyways here is a quick picture and a very quick soundclip, I play from 0-27 seconds then the master, Mr Blackmore takes over (just trying to get some initial tone tests going).

more pics and clips to come after it comes back to me in a more playable state. :P
