Post subject: N3 pickups or scn pickups ?

hi there, im looking for a new American Deluxe strat. some said that the American Deluxe Strat with SCN pickups are much better than a new 2010 american deluxe strat with N3 pickups. Need any advice. Which one is better. Thanks

I personally don't like the N3's. They're by no means bad but I just don't think they have much depth to them

I installed SCNs in my MIM Standard Strat and love the sound. Each switch position has a totally different sound from the others.

I don;t like either, they are both kind of mellow with no real kick to them.

I just wired them up with a standard 5-way switch. its all I really need. I cut the green shield wire short and just soldered the free end to where the black wire comes off the pup. Works great and eliminates a bunch of wire running around inside the guitar.
