Hello, its been a minute. Im about to restring my guitar and i thought i should oil my fretboard because i heard you should do it at least twice a year. I picked up some Kyser Lem-Oil at guitar center. Im wondering if this is ok to use this on maple fretboards and not just rosewood. Or just some tips on oiling my fretboard. Do i leave the oil on for a little bit or wipe it off quickly. Thanks

You should NOT use lemon oil on a maple fretboard. Only on Rosewood and the like, USE guitarpolish, the same you polish your guitar with. I use Dunlop 65. 8)

I agree. Use lemmon oil only on rosewood or ebony, not maple.

once a month i use WD-40 oil only on the fret wires, it prevents action from water and it get my bends like easiest job on earth.
as hwy1 got thin finish i only use a soft shirt for cleaning it, never putted anythink liquid on it.

I use murphy's oil soap, the stuff that's made for wood floors :P I make a cup of it following the directions (1:64 dilution) and then just dip my towel to get a few drops (Not too much, just enough to make it slightly damp) and have at it.
