need help making shure that a Mexican Fender offered to me is authentique.

Serial No MZ3 169642 .... obviously one digit too much

can anybody help me with that?

Go look at my thread and post pictures of the guitar in question if you can. People on here are generally helpful.

No, not too many digits. The M is Mexico, the Z is 0 for first digit of the year, and the 3 is the second digit of the year. That's 3 digits MZ3, THEN 6 digits for the rest of the serial number. That is the way the MIM serial numbers are. If you examine the serial number closely, you may even see that the last 6 digits are slightly out of line with the first three, that's OK too. It' a 2003 or 2004 model, according to the number that you provided.
