Blasphemy? Maybe, but I never use the trem, and I love the damn thing on my Jag. But I can't say I've ever seen one, is it a feasible mod?

Never seen one myself, But I've seen a hardtail. Also you may want to take the Scale length of the guitar into consideration and a Strat body may not be able to pull that one off. Not enough back end. 8)

Yes but the body would have to be countersunk or the bridge will sit way too high. Also keep in mind that although the saddles can be cut to compensate for a Fender string width, that particular bridge was designed for a Gibson string width. In the final analysis, it really isn't worth the effort. YMMV.

Well, the tuneomatic on my Jaguar special seems to work pretty well. Just a thought. I'll prolly just stick with blocking it.

Gibson's Tune-o-matic is intended to be used with a 15" radius neck.

A bit of a stretch, I'm afraid.

I'm referring to Fender's Adjust-o-matic bridge, I guess, not the Gibba TOM.

The way to go with a tune-o-matic on a Strat is on a Hard Tail body and route out a recessed pocket for it.

Warmoth offers a recessed tune-o-matic bridge route (with string through body -- no stop tail piece). Check 'em out.

Carvin also routes a recess for tune-o-matic type bridges on their Strat-type (and other type) bodies.

Sweet! I will def. check that out. I like the TOM bridge more than the standard strat bridge, though I love the sound and contours of a strat. I never use the rem and I prefer string through bridge instead f through the body.

Project!

Check out the "Recessed Tune-O-Matic with String-Through Body Mounting" at this Warmoth page. I couldn't find a picture of a Strat body with this option at their site, but I didn't look real hard. You could look through their Gallery.

It says there: On Flat Top bodies only we offer a recessed rout for our Gotoh Tune-O-Matic or TonePros Tune-O-Matic with a choice of 3 string-through patterns for $15. The strings go through our top-string-through ferrules and anchor in our standard guitar string ferrules in the back of the body. Due to the bridge recess, a neck pocket angle is not required. Three different String-Through patterns to choose from!
