Ralf,

I would be glad to, but its a guitar in a pawnhop. I do not know if the owners would let me do that. If I told them I had a possible buyer perhaps.

I think though it might be in violation of the forum rules to give you contact information about purchasing. I am not sure. People, including myself are always posting links to retail vendors to buy parts.

I can tell you what I do know. I was in the shop about 3 months ago and saw these 2 MIM strats in a color I had not seen before, but then I a still new to the strat world (about a year and a half) They were unusual to me as not only were they in a unusual color but they had thin trem bars like Squiers have. Everything else looked OK. I posted about it here and someone right away knew about the color Sage Green.

Well about a month ago I was back in the store and one of the guitars was gone and the other one was still there. I think the had a price about $300.00. It is Sage Green fat strat with maple neck.

I will check to see if they still have it and the price. If they still have it I will try and get pictures.

Plenty of Google images under 'Sage Green Stratocaster': http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=sa ... a=N&tab=wi

Sage Green seems to have been an unpopular color since Fender discontinued it from the MIM Standards, in 2006 was it?

thanks man, really appreciate it...i know it may be asking too much sorry bout that... it's just that i'm kind of a strat freak myself and i also have a love for green guitars sage green is quite a peculiar finish don't you think?
but it would look wicked on this project i'm working on... i could always get me a lake placid blue guitar and fix that up but i personally perfer that color

i can't recall if they discontinued it in 2006 but it's true it may have lost it's popularity after that... i've been playing for four years now (i know it's not much but i do the best i can) and i love fender guitars but i have never seen that finish in those 4 years until now...

Yes it looks like the one Metro posted except this one has maple fretboard.

I will try in the next couple of days to have an answer for you and pictures if possible.

Here's mine, a 2003. Found it on the LA Craigslist for $200 in December 2008. All it had was a chipped nut. Had my brother out in LA buy it and ship it to me. I installed aged plastic parts and a graphite nut on it not long after, along with a complete rewire. Oh yeah... Did I mention it had Texas Specials in it when I bought it?

Ralf,

I am sorry to tell you that the guitar is no longer in the store. It must have sold. There were once two and they were there most of the spring and earlier this summer one went. I had not been to the store in about 2 weeks and apparently somene grabbed up the other one. I would have gotten it myself but personally the color was not attractive to me. The Lake Placid Blue is more to my liking.

Again I am sorry and hope I did not get your hopes up too much. There are others out there.

OL

OL,
don't worry about it i'll find one eventually i really love that finish i have a real thing for green guitars but i guess i could do my project in lake placid blue a sage green strat is probably not worth modding anyways. it should stay the way it is... i might just post the project here... but thanks for the help

i would like to make clear that many people may not like the sage green finish but i personally think that it's a pretty wicked colour to have on a strat and i also think that it shouldn't have been discontinued

thanks OL you really helped me out

Ralf
