Hey guy's im a fairly new guitar player my question is this...i have 2009/2010 MIM strat rosewood/sunburst..put on a set of Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky's 9-46(i think)..(orange pack) i really like these strings but my bridge seems to set a lil higher than when i had the stock strings on...do i need to add a couple of trem springs?? or is it fine just the way it is?...no buzzing an stays in tune great even with aggressive tremelo use..Hmmm?..just would like a lil input from u ppl that have a lil more experience..thanx in advance for ur replies..Cheers!

It sounds like the original strings were a heavier gauge than the Slinkys that replaced them. If that's the case, the new lighter strings are exerting less tension on the trem springs than before, when tuned to pitch.

Remove your trem cover and try screwing the trem claw a little tighter (ie: closer to the front wall of the cavity) until you see the bridge plate return to its previous "float" position. Replace the trem cover and rock on.

Best of luck, HTH

Arjay

Yes, That's what I had to do. I use that same set of strings. My favorite set on my Strat. makes huge bends easy, and they still sound full. Great string choice in my opinion 8)
