I got you dude. I know that feeling. Thats the kinda love i keep in my memories, aldo I cannot tell anyone about it, I try to express this feeling over the strat. Then suddenly i feel 'free' inside. Take that love with you, and translate it with your fingers. Something awesome shall born from that.

Honey blondes are so abbundant here in brazil that sometimes i forget my blondes sleeping in bed for spending time with my sunburst strat in the music room. 8)
But let me recommend paparazzo.com.br for the top of the week 'common girls' that we got in brazil.

yeah theres characteristics different woods have over the next, but it all doesnt mean very much when your pickups are mounted to a piece of plastic in the first place, and not the wood.
pick a body and worry more about pickup and hardware choices if your mounting pups to plastic.

Yes......

And a 1970 AAR Cuda 340 Six-Pack in "Moulin Rouge" is JUST A CAR.

Someday you'll figure it out.

Man,you just took me back to a great memeory of a beautiful blonde I dated in '71 who was several years older and owned a '70/71 Cuda,a Gold color,I can't say what was under the Cuda's hood for sure,a 383 I think, but man the girl was a 440!!!

Oh yeah...I prefer alder for Strats...

An AAR Cuda would only have a 340. But, it is still a badass ride. And this takes nothing away from a 383, 426 Hemi or 440. Sure a 426 hemi cuda is well into the six digit price range, where as an AAR may not quite be there...yet..

But, one thing is undeniable...they all "sound" good, run good, and anyone who appreciates them, would give a leg to own one..

The last Hemi-powered Mopar E-body to sell at the Barrett-Jackson auction garnered a cool million-three. IIRC it was a '70 Challenger R/T coupe. The Plymouth "All-American Racers" and Challenger T/As aren't too far behind.

That is not the norm in this economic climate so that Challenger had to be museum quality mint. I guess it is like comparing a nice late 60's Strat, to one documented that Hendrix owned and was still in mint condition. It would not surprise me for an ax like that to bring a mil if it hasn't already.

I am not familiar with that particular Challenger buy, but I reckon it was a Hemi with a stick to bring in 7 figures. If that had been a rag top it might have got a mil 5 or more..damn.

Indeed, it was a 426 4-spd in the same color blue that my '70 440-6bbl R/T was. A total body-off restoration and vintage-correct, right down to the repro Goodyear Polyglas GT F60-15s and an NOS collapsible spare.

I should've kept mine.

Who knew?

I feel you. Years ago I had sold a 1969 roadrunner 440 6 pack for a handshake. Not to mention a 64 Chevelle Malibu SS 327 4 speed, a few GTO's...well they say hindsight is 20/20.

I hope I don't make the same mistakes again..I could stab myself in the eye thinking about all the 70's Strats and basses I sold for 4-500 bucks when I was a stupid kid.

Amen to that!

Nowadays, I don't sell anything anymore. If/when I grow tired of it I just stick it under the bed "just in case......"

(my boxspring is about five feet off the floor now)

How about a Ford instead......?

Image

Specifically a mid-70's Ford-Australia "Falcon".

This is the vehicle tapped to become Mad Max's "Interceptor" in the Road Warrior films. It's based on the Maverick platform, with styling cues taken from the 69/70 Torino. V-8 power via a 351, coupled to either a stir-your-own-gears four-speed or the venerable C6 automatic.

Kinda neat, huh?
