When you buy used from a private person you buy whatever problems that exist and there is no guarantee.

The seller will fell threatened or embarrassed by your call, as what he will hear is "oh there is a problem with this guitar that you did not tell me about..."

In other words he really does not want to hear from you. That's the psychology of the situation.

Calling him will not solve the problem either, unless he can tell you exactly what the problem is, which will indict him as he did not tell you to start with.

My suggestion is to leave the seller be. It's a waste of time. Take it to a good shop and see if someone there can help. It may not cost a thing.
