Hi about 12 years ago I was at a pawn shop and I purchased a black newer style high end fender stratocaster 3 single coil usa model I remember for sure .
I think it say's custom shop on it and it had a unique decal on the headstock .

As a freelance musician I used to play all over and this guitar was one of my #1 back up axes .
I played this guitar in thousands of gig's or sessions until 4 years ago .

The whole fender script decal is silver and this head of the bearded dude is same fender silver & His silver head is located approx where the cbs logos are This is a 2 bolt point tremolo and it has the extra frets
I do like collecting guitars .

The guitar is now at my fathers place but this because I had broken my back 4 years ago but this
puzzled me for about 10 years as I never knew who this Dude is or was lol Definitely it is a American Fender Stratocaster and inside the body was all routed out for electronics and a humbucker but I kept the stock single coil pickup in it .With a orange Decal inside the body cavity by the volume pot or neck pickup .

If I remember right It also has a 4 bolt microtilt style solid neck . No rosewood fingerboard .
A very well made guitar .

Can anyone shed me a clue as to who this dude signature model pic is ?

I never thought about it until now after I told him to ship a few of my guitars to me . I can call my pop tomorrow with the serial numbers and post them if needed .

Thanks
1fenderlady

Are you sure it is a man with a beard and not something that looks more like my avatar?

I have been really into strats forever and never heard of a bearded man signature series. maybe it was a one of a kind and someone put it on after it was made?

Either that or it is very rare..wish you could post a pic. The serial number can allow us to tell you where it was made and when..possibly...but that assumes the serial number is not a forgery. Not to say you have a fake ax..apparently you used this ax and it's good...but fakes do come by now and then..some good, some not so good..no way to know for sure without good pics of the front and back of the headstock. and body front and back with the covers off.

However, if there is a chance this is some odd signature series or special edition, someone here should know of it..you came to the right place.

No need to say more. Who knows what the previous owner did to the guitar or even if it is a genuine Fender. Custom Shop decals have been forged too. No way of verifying without a pic. Never heard of a bearded man Strat. Does he look like Santa Claus, or is it more of a ZZ Top beard?
