I have a Clapton signature strat, and love the V neck :)

Recently I've had a weird question in my mind, which was:

There are plenty other models with V necks, such as 50's models, JV signature, Buddy Guy signature, Am. Deluxe V neck, and so on.

Are all these V necks the same as the Clapton V, or is the Clapton V slightly different from the other V's?

My Classic 50s feels slightly thicker than my Clapton. I still prefer the "Vs" over the other profiles

The Vs are more pronounced on some models and less on others,my Jimmie Vaughn Strat has a gentle V that feels just so comfortable in my hands.

They can be very different. I like the Clapton necks, the Deluxe V necks and the Jimmie Vaughan necks but the ones on the Classic '50s strat are a little too much for me. I always look very carefully for guitars with V necks whenever I'm at a store and play it. And I'm always really surprised at how different they all are and at which ones I end up liking/disliking. It's definitely something you have to play first before you can decide for yourself.
