or i can get the new 2010 model for £1099.00

thats quite a bit more, is it all down to those n3 noisless pups??? dont get me wrong the 2010 models are dam fine strats. but wondering if thats worth it or not.

anyone got one? or both?? what are the pre 2010s like?

would love to hear some input on this

I was told the 2010 deluxe strats are delayed due to the paint company going out of business?

Is this correct?

I tried a Deluxe in a shop and i said "is this a 2010?" He assured me it was, but the serial number was DZ9xxxxx.

Was it a 2009?

Whatever it was, it was excellent!

some 2010s were marked 09. I have a 9 in the serial of my new standard and when I checked the number it says it was made in 2010. The 2010 deluxe would have the compound radios neck the 2009 does not... 0

My 2010 Dlx starts with a 9 as well.. I believe the only differences are the compound radius and the N3 pups, some say the N3s give a better Strat sound, others still prefer the SCN noiseless. I'm not a fan of either.

I really like my Dlx, a nice light ash, quality and looks are amazing! If the 2 new features dont mean much to you and you find an 09 that feels right to you then go for it.

Absolutely love my 2009. It just feels so good and sounds fantastic. Some don't care for the S-1 but I like it a lot. As for the noiseless pups - they got my vote. Haven't heard the 2010's though.

Play them both, pick the one you like best.

Pick ups can be changed out, tremolos can be replaced, but a ill playing body and neck will make you in the end sell the guitar and simply not play it.

If the 200 pound more one played better, then it is the cheapest 200 you will spend when you take and bath on the wrong one.

And who knows, the cheaper one may fit you and your hand better.
