I see it is your first post, welcome to the forum..this site is great.

There is another section dedicated to Teles..you are in Strats.

Your serial number would indicate USA made..the first letter and digit would indicate USA made in 2006.

However for it to be authenticated we would need clean pictures of the headstock front and back, and the body with the pick guard removed. Then everyone could chime in with their opinions.

If you are unsure bring it to a licensed Fender dealer or good guitar shop and they should be able to authenticate it for a small fee..sometimes free depending if it is obvious.

You can use a hosting site. There are probably a bunch of ways to do it but I use my cell phone cam and send the pics to photo bucket. Then when in the reply box look on top and see where it says Img.

I go to photobucket and copy the img link...click on the "img" above..and paste it. Other then occasional sizing issues (my pics tend to come out to big), it works.

Somethings off..well a few things. I am not really a Tele expert..more of a Strat man..but I do know Fenders.

An 06 is an anniversary year I believe so it sound have an emblem on the back of the headstock..but that I could let slide since perhaps those are special editions....not sure...but what is highly suspect is...

1) Those tuners are asian, not USA

2) The truss rod hole on the headstock for USA models should have a darker wood insert, generally black plastic would indicate Mexi..and nothing there indicates elsewhere..typically somewhere in Asia.

3) No string through body. Only very old teles..and affinity/ Squires (cheapies) are done without string through on Teles.

My guess is counterfeit made in USA decal on a squier of some type...sorry. Maybe a Tele pro can verify my opinion.

Not a real Tele pro either but I agree that it is not a USA Fender Tele. ebaysux is correct - all the things he listed are wrong on the Tele. I'm not sure the headstock is the completely correct shape either but that could just be the angle of the photos.

I don't even think this is a squire; I think it's just a copy of some kind with old Fender logo Gotoh tuners, counterfit logo and serial number decal.

The quotation marks around the word "Telecaster" were my first clue - this is definitely not the real McCoy, IMO.

Fender is putting the quotation marks around "Telecaster" on American Standards - but they look quite a bit different from the OP's guitar (directly from Fender.com):

And here is a headstock from a dealer's site:

The logo on the OP's guitar is a forgery - it's moderately close, but a still a fake.

Oddly enough, the quotation marks are correct for that year USA standard Tele..... Nothing else however is.
