I believe that those holes are from when the they paint them the have a piece of wood that the body is attached to and hangs from a bar while the paint is applied. No worries for the guitar.
ABS :)

Agree with airbornestrat. Those two holes are on many Fender bodies. Even the vintage originals!

hey freddyfingers82,

If you want to post a link to a picture, it has to have a bracketed "url" in front of the link, and a bracketed "/url" at the end, using the "URL" button above to create a link. The link that you tried for your picture would point to the hard drive on your computer, we wouldn't be able to see it. The picture has to be on a publicly viewable website like PhotoBucket for us to see it. I can imagine your Malmsteen body though....in my mind it looks awesome! :D

Edit: I see that you figured it out, cool!

well for starters it is made to malmsteens liking as it is his signature,2nd it is made in america,3 it is painted in nitro.Which buying any body to paint in nitro will cost 400 at least and lastly I thats what I paid 400.Its alot but its going to last.

Well considering you could get a route similar to this made of the same wood and nitro finish for half the price...it is the fact that is is a Malmsteen that justifies the price. It will hold value (and most likely increase) because it is legit and clean.

As I stated myself I am not a Malmsteen fan, but still appreciate an authentic buy..since there are scammers out there that try to pass off counterfeits, and some are close...but if there is any question...I will pass...if it's legit it is worth the price.

Personally I would never spend that much on a body unless it was a pre 80's vintage..but then again I am not a collector or a malmsteen fan, i am just on a quest for the holy grail of vintage Strat tone without having to pay $25,000. But regardless of the price one is willing and able to pay, if the product is legit and makes the buyer happy, then all is good.

I mean If I had all the money in the world personally any guitar is worth its price if you love playing it and signatures carry value as was said. But I'm not giving it up unless I could find a nitro body for half.Highway ones are cool but the body is slightly larger than this.

Well while on the subject of Strat body purchases..I just moments ago purchased a near mint 90's MIJ alder 62 reissue from ebay (ironically lol) to go with a maple/rosewood 62 reissue neck I have had for like a year. This body is 100% legit, sonic blue and exactly what I was waiting for.

150 bucks with shipping.

It does however have a slight problem, it has been drilled for a 2 point trem. Nothing a couple of dowels and a re-drill can't fix. The repair will be hidden once a bridge and PG is installed for the most part..and since this is going to be my keeper, I am not the least bit concerned about the repair. If not for the 2 point holes, this body could have sold for twice that price easy..or close to it.

Now I need some vintage tuners, steel block bridge, good electronics, a mint green guard, aged plastics and a set of texas specials. I guess when all is said and done I will be into this project around 500 bucks and lord knows how much time...but hey, if I can get the look, sound and feel I want for around 500 bucks..well very worth every cent. I will be posting pics of this build and a youtube of the sound when complete...along with the 2002 USA standard wreck that i purchased dirt cheap since the body was busted in 3. Half the fun is the anticipation, but it won't be much fun in the end if they do not sound good when complete...time will tell.
