My classic players 60 s strat had an issue that the truss rod
was tight at the end, well took it to a fender support site,
told me the truss rod is at it's end and needs to be replaced.
Well luckily still under waranty.

So now it's a waiting game. I'm guessing it has to built. And may
take a few weeks or 8 wks

took about 2 wks and another 4-5 days for the tech to get to it.
the new serial number is MX10......
the new neck is in tip top condition, the tech from century music set it up
awesome, intonation actionneck relief pup heights props to those guys.

the only thing is the neck doesnt feel as thick as originally. not complaining,
just an observation.
it is a 12 radius, neck, it is alittle thicker than my am std. and the tint is lighter than my classic series, all in all. the neck fells perfect.

It takes me less than half-an-hour to swap necks, and that includes putting on new strings. But, I don't have lots of other people in line ahead of me.

The wait is probably for the paperwork and authorizations to process before it's shipped to repair site. Don't let it slip...or they will too.

Hi bluesstrattone...i am sorry to hear about the trouble with your neck. I had a similar problem, but on a 2008 American Standard Tele. Once the authorized service center came to the conclusion that the neck was bad, and ordered me a replacement neck, they had it in about 3 weeks, ready to install.

What I would suggest to You, is to have the service center write a receipt solely for the replacement neck explaining why the serial numbers on your new neck does not match the serial number that is on your original sales receipt when you bought the guitar.

I hope your neck arrives faster than mine did.

I can take longer if you have to replace or install new tuners.

hey thanks grover,
im glad to that someone has more insight on this issue.
my neck was alright, playable, but i went from 10s to 9s, in order to give the neck relief. i can be patient.

orville, the neck is the only faulty piece, thuners are perfect.

i asked about the static, basically told me fender wont do anything about it.
im actually excited because i can go back to 10s on it.
i still have a few other geetars to keep me entertained.
the only problem is its 150 miles away from me.

oh by the way,

the guys at Century Music in san antonio are cool.
they do complete service. pickup installs, setups.
just FYI. they also take fender's warranty.

i was there about 5 minutes, and the tech sorted out the problem right away.

 im sorry if this is against the rules, but know i have no connection to them,
im just giving them props for their help.

I was here researching the whole warranty topic - same situation with my Eric Johnson neck. I was told up to 90 days. hopefully the wait will go by quickly for both of us. Please let us know how it turns out!

I had to replace the neck on my lefty 78 Strat in 79 but it was under warranty, unfortunately Fender didn't have any on hand but there was a place at the time called The Left Hand Guitar Guild and Fender O Ked getting a replacement Fender Strat neck from them so it took only 2 or 3 weeks.I guess things have changed a lot since then.

According to you it will be up to 8 weeks because you are using your warranty.

For me, I just take off the strings, remove the 4 neck screws and plate, take off old neck, put in new neck, replace the screws and plate, restring the guitar, then check the neck relief, and intonation. If I have all the parts, it can take 1 hour to 2 hours. No waiting.

have you called fender support?
jeremy from support helped me out, even called on a follow up call.
they will tell you where your closest service center is.
